Bradbury Hotel (formerly Honeywood House)
Sir Terry Wogan officially opened the newly renamed Bradbury Hotel in East Preston, West Sussex in April 2007. Formerly known as Honeywood House, the hotel offers visually impaired people safe, comfortable and stress-free holidays in the beautiful surroundings of landscaped gardens and open parkland. The hotel is only twenty minutes walk from the sea.
With its specialised facilities and trained staff, The Bradbury Hotel is the ideal holiday location for guests with long-term blindness or partial vision. It is also suited to those who are newly blind and coming to terms with their loss of sight and who find the thought of a mainstream hotel too daunting.
Besides the obvious attraction of the sea, the area also offers the Sussex Downs as well as major coastal resorts and shopping centres such as Brighton and Worthing. Also within easy reach are historic towns such as Arundel and Chichester.

Grand UK Holidays
The Royal Blind Society has joined up with travel company Grand UK Holidays to offer a greater range of holidays and short breaks in the UK for blind and visually impaired people.
Hotels have been chosen in seven popular UK holiday destinations: the Isle of Wight, Newquay, Skegness, Bridlington, Blackpool, Scotland and the Lake District with the prime aim of offering safe, comfortable and stress-free holidays to people with impaired sight, their families, friends and guide dogs.
“All the new hotels have been chosen because they offer mature holidaymakers a warm welcome in a homely and friendly environment” says Leisure Services Manager Peter Hards.
The holidays are designed to be as care-free as possible – from pick up to drop–off, yet offer great value for money. There are 350 local pick-up points and no single room supplements. Each holiday has its own tour manager, and free travel insurance is included at no extra cost.
